Responsibility

Responsibility is woven into everything we do. From sourcing materials to supporting the people behind our products, we are committed to choices that respect both the planet and its communities. While we know this journey isn’t perfect, we believe in taking tangible steps toward a more sustainable and ethical future. Our goal is simple: to create with integrity, minimize our impact, and contribute to a better world—bringing people closer to nature so we can all better understand and protect it.

We favour certified fabrics—Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), Global Recycle Standard (GRS), and premium deadstock. These certifications uphold strict environmental and social standards, reducing our ecological impact and protecting those in our supply chain.

GOTS Certification: Ensures at least 70% organic fibers, processed with minimal chemicals, saving water and energy. It also guarantees fair labor practices, making our fabrics both ethical and eco-friendly.

GRS Certification: Verifies our recycled materials are traceable, responsibly sourced, and produced with minimal environmental impact. It promotes recycled material use and social responsibility throughout the supply chain.

Deadstock Fabrics: We repurpose surplus materials from other production runs, curbing demand for new resources and reducing waste. These quality fabrics extend the lifecycle of existing materials.

Biomaterials: We're constantly exploring innovative biomaterials to push textile boundaries. Our Recovery Collection, featuring Skin Series textiles with seaweed bioactives, exemplifies this vision—creating garments that nourish your skin and boost well-being.

Circularity: We're crafting buy-back programs to extend our garments' lifespan, diverting them from landfills.

We aim to minimize waste at every turn—upcycling fabric scraps and refining patterns to reduce excess. For us, sustainability is an ongoing journey, with each collection bringing us closer to our goal of responsible creation and reduced impact.

Our responsibility extends beyond materials to the people who breathe life into our products. We collaborate exclusively with ethical, family-run factories that champion fair wages, safe working conditions, and workers' rights. Regular visits to our manufacturing partners ensure our values are upheld, fostering enduring relationships built on trust, transparency, and mutual respect. Each product we create embodies these partnerships—meticulously crafted with care and integrity..

Protecting nature is essential to our ethos. Beyond our material choices, we are actively involved in preserving biodiversity and supporting environmental causes. We donate a portion of our proceeds to marine conservation efforts, specifically focused on protecting sea turtles and restoring coral reefs. By contributing to these causes, we aim to make a lasting impact on both land and sea, ensuring future generations can continue to explore and connect with the natural world.

We extend our environmental responsibility to how we package our products. Our shipping materials include recycled cardboard sourced locally in Singapore, biodegradable stickers made from 100% biocellulose, and FSC-certified paper printed with soy-based inks. We’re focused on reducing our impact wherever we can, which is why all our packaging is designed to be compostable, recyclable, and free from harmful chemicals. From start to finish, we ensure that the packaging reflects our values of sustainability and respect for the planet.

At Dirty Manners, we view sustainability as an evolving journey, not a destination. We’re continually exploring new materials, including plant-based and biodegradable innovations, to push the boundaries of what's possible in fashion. Our upcoming initiatives include developing buy-back programs to extend the lifecycle of our garments and collaborating with designers and organizations who share our values. We believe in creating lasting change, and we’re committed to taking real steps to reduce waste, innovate responsibly, and protect the planet for future generations.
